Dhaka, one of the world’s most overcrowded cities, ranked ninth on Friday’s global list of worst air quality, with an AQI score of 110 at 9:15am — categorised as ‘unhealthy for sensitive groups’.
The city’s air, which had remained ‘moderate’ in recent days, deteriorated again, posing health risks, especially for vulnerable people.
Kinshasa, Kampala, and Santiago topped the list with AQI scores above 160.
As per World Health Organization (WHO), air pollution kills an estimated seven million people worldwide every year.
