Zafar-Yasmeen withdraw resignation

SYLHET: Eminent educationist and writer Professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and his wife physics Professor Dr Yasmeen Haque withdrew their resignation letters on Wednesday.

They made the decision after the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) authority had agreed to hold the combined admission tests.

The decision of holding ‘combined’ admission tests came out from a meeting of academic council around 11am.

Prof Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, his wife Dr Yasmeen Haque and the vice chancellor of the university briefed the students on the campus immediately after the meeting around 2.30pm.

Earlier on Tuesday, Professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and Professor Dr Yasmeen Haque submitted resignation letter to vice-chancellor Dr Aminul Haque from their post from university.

In the resignation letter they mentioned that they felt embarrassing as university authority postponed cluster admission test system.

After hearing the news, students of the university started staging protest on the campus.
