DHAKA: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed on Thursday categorically said army personnel would be deployed in due time to ensure law-and-order during the 10th parliamentary polls.
The chief election commissioner came up with the assertion while talking to journalists after a meeting at election commission secretariat conference room in the noon.
Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed also said the Bangladesh Army also assured about their preparations helping the election commission for holding elections in a free and fair manner.
Meanwhile, Chiefs of DGFI, Coast Guard, Ansar, Special Branch of police and National Security Intelligence, including Home secretary CQK Mostak Ahmed, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hasan Mahmood Khandakaer, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General Mokhlesur Rahman, Military Principal of Staff Officer Lieutenant General Abu Belal Safiul Haque, and Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General Aziz Ahmed Chowdhury were among others present at the meeting.
