DHAKA: A speedy trial tribunal on Sunday awarded death penalty to four people in the much-talked-about case of businessman Suman Kumar Dutt killing.
Amongst six accused, the court also sentenced two years imprisonment to Asaduzzaman Khan Sajib and acquitted another.
Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 Judge ABM Sajedur Rahman passed the verdict.
The convicts four are A Karim Sardar, Rashed Sardar Raju, Deen Islam Deena and Nasir Hossain Gazi. Amongst them, Rashed Sardar Raju was absconding.
Besides, the convicted were also sentenced to five years in jail and fined TK 5000 in default six months jail in another case.
On the other hand, Asaduzzaman Khan Sajib was sentenced to two years in jail and fined TK 2000 in default two months jail for stealing.
The case statement reads: the convicts killed businessman Suman kumar Dutt at his office at Mohammadpur Thana and looted valuables form the office on October 05, 2011.
