JU VC still confined

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: Vice- chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) professor Anwar Hossain still confined by a section of agitating teachers of the varsity demanding his resignation and vice-chancellor panel election.

Earlier, the protesting teachers besieged him at his university residence around 10:00pm Monday when Anwar returned in the campus after taking treatment.

The group of teachers under the banner of Shikkhak-Shikkharthee-Karmakarta-Karmachari Oikya Forum (SSKKOF) also brought out a torchlight procession at around 7:00pm Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the chief of forum and Shikkhak Somity president professor Azit Kumar Mazumdar, secretariat member professor Muhammad Kamrul Ahsan and other teachers of the varsity joined in the procession.

The protesting forum named SSKKOF is set to hold a press conference later on the day to make disclose their further steps.

Earlier, teachers have been staging movement and confined JU VC demanding his resignation on charge of various irregularities.
