DHAKA: A police officer was injured as blockaders blasted cocktails at Nayapaltan in the fifth day of blockade called by BNP-led 18-party alliance.

The injured is assistant commissioner Saiful Islam. He was rushed to Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital.

Witness said blockaders blasted three cocktails targeting police at Bhasani Goli around 2:45pm on Wednesday, leaving the police officer injured.

On duty sub-inspector in the area Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
