KHULNA: The rail link of Khulna with other parts of the country restored after a 29-hour halt due to derailment of Nakshikantha Express and Meghna Express early Wednesday.

Sources said that five compartments of Nakshikantha Express derailed at around 1:30am as blockade supporters removed the fishplates of rail track in Bejer Danga area of the district, leaving some passengers injured.

Khulna rail station master Amirul Islam told banglanews, “The train communications on the route resumed at around 6:30am after renovation of damaged rail tracks and rescue of derailed compartments.
