JOYPURHAT: The rail communication of Joypurhat with other parts of the country halted for five hours as blockaders removed the fishplates of the rail track in Sadar upazila of the district on Thursday morning.
Sources said that the blockade supporters uprooted fishplates and rail tracks after tied-up an on-duty Ansar man in Uri bridge area of Jamalpur union of the upazila at around 4:00am.
Confirming the matter Joypurhat Railway Station Master Nurul Islam told banglanews, “Being informed about the sabotage, the train services had been suspended on the route.”
Later, the train service resumed at around 9:00am after repairing the rail line.
Following the incident, additional law enforcers were deployed in the area, station master added.
