Int’l community won’t mediate

DHAKA: The international community will not mediate to overcome the ongoing political crisis in Bangladesh.

Canadian High Commissioner Heather Cruden came up with the assertion after an hour-long meeting with Foreign Minister of poll-time cabinet AHA Mahmood Ali on Thursday.

Answering a question of the journalists about mediation, Cruden said that international community would not mediate; the political parties and people of the country will make a decision in this regard.

She, however, expressed concern about the ongoing violence and causalities.

Through the violent activities, pro-people were badly affected socially and financially, she added.
