DHAKA: Four people were killed and three others injured in two separate road accidents in Habiganj and Bagerhat districts on Friday noon.
In Habiganj: Our Habiganj correspondent said that two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident in Shayestaganj area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway of the upazila on Friday noon.
The deceased was identified as Manik Mia, 70, and Shanu Mia, 30, of the area.
Local sources said that a truck rammed over a motorcycle, carrying Manik and Shanu in the area, leaving them injured critically at around 12:30 pm.
The injured were rushed to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries at around 2:00pm.
Shayestaganj Highway Thana Officer-in-Charge Rafikul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
In Bagerhat: Our Bagerhat correspondent informed that two people were killed and three others injured as a Shallow engine run (Nosimon) hit a truck from behind in Khulna-Maowa highway on Friday noon.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Local sources said that the accident happened as a goods-laden truck suddenly stopped and a Shallow engine run (Nosimon) hit the truck from behind in the area at around 1:30 pm, leaving two passengers of the Nosimon dead on the spot and three others injured critically.
However the injured were rushed Khulna Medical College Hospital and Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex.
Mollahat Thana Officer-in-Charge Khayrul Anam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
