DHAKA: The depression over southwest bay and adjoining area has concentrated into a deep depression and remained practically stationary over the same area.
It was centred at 6:00 am Saturday about 1615 kms southwest of Chittagong port, 1545 kms southwest of Cox’s Bazar port and 1505 kms south-southwest of Mongla port (near lat 10.00 n and long 84.00 e), the met office said.
It is likely to intensify further and move in a northerly direction.
Maximum sustained wind speed within 48 kms of the depression centre is about 50 kph rising to 60 kph in gusts or squalls.
Sea will remain moderate near the system centre.
All fishing boats and trawlers over deep sea have been advised to remain close to North Bay and proceed with caution till further notice. They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
