DHAKA: Muggers snatched Tk 13.5 lakhs from a businessman after shooting him in Dhakeswari Temple area of the capital on Tuesday morning.

The victim was Abul Kashem of resident of a house adjacent gate no 1 of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGD) headquarter in Lalbagh.

Witnesses said Abul Kashem went to Islami Bank with TK 13.5 lakhs to deposit it at around 11:30am. During the time, some muggers riding on two motorbikes intercepted him and shot him in his foot and snatched the bag containing the money.

The injured is now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
