FENI: A covered van driver was burnt to death at Chittagong Medical College Hospital as Shibir activists set fire to his car in the district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Mahbubul Alam 42, son of Belal Uddin of Amtali under Barguna district.

Sources said Shibir activists vandalized a covered van. At one stage, they torched the vehicle on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Lemua area of the district town early Thursday, leaving driver Mahbubul burnt severely.

He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he died in the morning.

Officer-in-Charge of Feni Sadar Thana Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the matter to banglanews.
