DHAKA: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed said army has been kept on alert and ready for deployment anytime.

The CEC came up with the assertion while talking to journalist at commission’s secretariat on Thursday evening.

He told the journalists: “Army on alert condition and ready for deployment. We may deploy army at anytime.”

Rakibuddin also said, “Army will be deployed earlier in many areas by considering the situation.”
