DHAKA: At least five people were killed and over 50 injured in some districts as Jamaat-Shibir men ran amok after execution of Quader Mollah for war crimes from early Friday.
Leaders-activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir went berserk in different districts and upazilas from Thursday night after execution of war crimes convict Quader Mollah for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.

In Satkhira: Jamaat-Shibir activists chopped and beat two leaders of ruling Awami League to death in Kolaroa upazila of the district early Friday.
The deceased were identified as Azizur Rahman Azu, 53 and Mehedi Hasan Zoz Mia, 35, of the same upazila.
Family sources of deceased said that some 20/25 Jamaat-Shibir men attacked the house of Azizur Rahman. They chopped him to death and looted and torched the house of adjacent Awami League leader.
In Noakhali: A vendor was killed and a rickshaw puller sustained bullet injury in a clash between law enforcers and Jamaat-Shibir men in Afania bazaar under Begaumganj upazila early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Khorshed Alam, 45, a Chotpoti seller.
In JESSORE: A Jamaat activist was killed as a trucked rammed him when he tried to torch the truck in Bagharpara upazula of the district on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ashraful, 20, son of Mokbul of Mohiron village of the same upazila.
In PIROJPUR: A youth was killed in a clash between opposition BNP and ruling Awami League men at Ghosherhat bazaar of Pattashi Union under Zianagar Upazila of the district early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Shukur Ali Hawladar, 25.
In Feni: Jamaat-Shibir men torched three trucks and two auto-rickshaws in front of Mohipal police outpost at around 10:15pm Thursday.
Besides, pouring petrol Shibir men set fire to Fazilpur rail station on Dhaka-Chittagong rail route at 12:00am that damaged panel board, telephone line and important documents.
In Narayanganj: Jamaat-Shibir men set fire to two goods-laden covered vans on Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Rupganj Upazila of the district at 8:15pm.
Meanwhile, they also vandalized 10/12 vehicles.
Rupganj Thana Sub-Inspector Hanif Hawlader and Mafiz Mallik confirmed the matter to banglanews.
In Dinajpur: Apprehending subversive act, railway authority suspended rail services of west zone from Thursday night.
Confirming the matter, west zone Pakshi divisional transport officer told banglanews, “Parbatipur-Dhaka-Khulna-Rajshahi-Lalmonirhat rail services were suspended due to security reason.”
In Sirajganj: Jamaat-Shibir set fire to Ullapara Upazila Awami League office at around 10:30pm Thursday. Later, they besieged Ullapara model Thana.
Beside, Jamaat-Shibir activists set fire to Ullapara jute warehouse that left five jute warehouses burnt to ashes.
Additional Police Super Muktar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
In Jhenaidah: Jamaat-Shibir activists set fire to seven trucks, Tempu, Battery-run easy bike and motorbike in the district on Thursday night.
Besides, Shibir men blasted 15/20 cocktails in Sheikhpara Bazar under Shailkupa Upazila.
Jhenaidah Sadar Circle Assistant Police Super Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
In Bandarban: Shibir activists dug roads in Chairman para area on Bandarban-Keranihat road to cut the road communication of Bandarban with Chittagong on Thursday midnight.
Meanwhile, cutting tree they put barricade on roads. On information, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel rushed to the spot and removed the barricade.
In Gaibandha: Shibir men set fire to a Jeep and two business institutions in Palashbari of the district at around 11:00pm.
Later, they put barricade on Dhaka-Rangpur highway at around 11:45pm.
In Rangpur: Jamaat-Shibir men set fire to Youth training centre office in Uttam Hazirhat area of the district at around 11:30pm.
Later, locals rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
Rangpur Assistant Police Super Humayun Kabir confirmed the matter to banglanews.
In Rajshahi: Shibir men hurled petrol bombs at house of former state minister for industries Omar Faruk Chowdhury in Sagarpara area of the city at around 9:00pm Thursday.
They also hurled couple of cocktails at police when they rushed to the spot after being informed.
Beside, Jamaat-Shibir men locked into clash with police in Binodpur area at 11:00pm.
In Sylhet: Jamaat-Shibir men set fire to rail line near to Sylhet rail station at around 11:30pm.
Besides, they besieged the Jalalabad police station and blasted cocktails.
In Naogaon: Jamaat-Shibir men torched a bus and upazila land office in Porsha upazila bus stand area early Friday.

War crimes convict Quader Mollah walked the gallows on Thursday night in the first-ever execution in a war crimes case.
Later, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami called dawn-to dusk hartal across the country for Sunday protesting execution of the war crimes convict Jamaat leader Quader Mollah.
