Petrol bomb injures 7 in Gazipur

GAZIPUR: At least seven people were injured as Jamaat-Shibir men hurled petrol bombs at Joydebpur railway junction in the district on Friday morning.

The injured were sent to various clinics and hospitals.

Witnesses said that some 10/15 Jamaat-Shibir activists with the camouflage of passenger entered into the railway station and attacked chief station master and assistant station master at 07:52am.

Meanwhile, they blasted three petrol bombs in station master’s room, control room and ticket room.

Later, Shibir men blasted another cocktail at station platform, leaving five passengers injured.

On information Gazipur fire service station rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

Joydebpur Railway Junction Chief Station Master Sardar Ziauddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Following the incident the train service of Joydebpur-Mymensingh, Joydebpur-Rajshahi and Joydebpur-Khulna remained halted.
