CHITTAGONG: The largest warship for Bangladesh Navy ‘Somodrojoy’ made by United States has reached at Patenga Naval base in the port city on Friday morning.

Vice Admiral of Navy M Farid Habib welcomed the ship around 10:00am.

Meanwhile, US ambassador to Dhaka Dan W Mozena and high officials of different level of military and civil administrations were present during the time.

The 115-meter long ship is to run by double diesel engines and two gas turbines.

Besides, the warship has been facilitated with landing and taking off Dolphin, Blackhawk and Seahawk type helicopters.

On May 23, Former US Coast Guard Cutter Jarvis Transferred the ship in San Francisco officially handed over the ship to Bangladesh Naval force.
