DHAKA: The railway ministry has suspended chief railway regulator M Jahirul Haque (Dhaka) momentarily for providing wrong information to press.

Railway Minister M Mujibul Haque issued the direction on Friday.

Railway sources said Jahirul told media that the train services would be shut for Friday fearing violent activities by Jamaat-Shibir following execution of condemned war criminal and Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah on Thursday night.

However, the rail ministry didn’t issue any order to halt rail services.
