Laxmipur Jamaat leader ‘murdered’

LAXMIPUR: A leader of Jamaat-e-Islami was allegedly murdered in Temuhoni area of the district town early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Dr Fayez Ahamed, 58, Laxmipur District Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer.

Family sources claimed that pushing from victim’s house roof a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) team killed him at around 12:00am.

But the proof of the allegation was not found from law enforcers or any reliable sources.

The body was sent to Laxmipur Sadar hospital morgue.

On the other hand, dawn-to-dusk hartal is underway called by Jamaat-Shibir in the district protesting the killing incident.
