Eight Hafez, who were the winner of the ‘Quraner Noor’ competition, the biggest-ever Quran recitation contest in the country left Dhaka to perform Umrah along with their family members on Tuesday (October 17).
A total of 25 people, including the top winners, departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) for Saudi Arabia at 10:15 am.
Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and Managing Director (MD) Sayem Sobhan Anvir presented dedicated the tour to the winners in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
In addition, 10 other insolvent people set off to perform Umrah Hajj under the arrangement of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Musalli Committee Chief Advisor, Bajus President and Bashundhara Group MD Sayem Sobhan Anvir.
Regarding the Umrah, Hafez Nasrullah Anas said any competition remains limited to giving prizes and money, but here Bashundhara Group has created an opportunity for the winers to perform Umrah with their family members alongside the prizes.
“Going for Umrah with family members is a great achievement. I thank Bashundhara Group for givning such a great opportunity," he said.
Gulzar Ahmed said everyone here is lucky as they are going to perform Umrah with their children. “We rejoice in their success. No one else has organised such a big event in Bangladesh.”
He added, “Earlier, Sayem Sobhan Anvir organised Iftar for Muslims in Baitul Mukarram every day during the holy month of Ramadan and provided opportunities for more than a hundred underprivileged Muslims to perform the Umrah.”
