Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly shot dead a Bangladeshi man along Ratnai border in Baliadangi upazila in Thakurgaon on Monday (October 23).

The deceased was identified as Nuruzzaman, 45, son of Taslim Uddin of the upazila.

Commanding officer of BGB-50 Lieutenant Colonel Tanjir Ahmed confirmed the matter.

He said that the BSF members of Sonamati camp opened fire on some Bangladeshi people, numbering 10-12, leaving Nuruzzaman dead.

Later, they took the body to their camp while the others managed to flee the scene.

A flag meeting between BSF and BGB would be held in the afternoon protesting at the killing, the official added.
