The district intelligence police has arrested Manjur Elahi, former chairman of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila Parishad, and member secretary of Narsingdi district BNP.

He was arrested on Monday (October 23) at 4:30 pm from Dhaka's Uttara Sector 18.

According to the District Intelligence Police, Manjur has been arrested for involvement in anti-government activities and subversive activities including destabilizing the state, creating fear and panic among the public.

Officer-in-Charge of District Intelligence Police Khokon Chandra Sarkar confirmed the matter.

Manjur Elahi was arrested from Dhaka. After his arrest, he was brought to the District, the official added.
