Two persons died and two others were injured when a truck ran over a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Pabna's Ishwardi upazila on Wednesday (October 25).

The accident happened in front of Ishwardi Govt Sara Marwari School and College on Ishwardi-Baneshwar regional road of upazila around 5:30 am.

The deceased were Zinnat Ali, 54, son of Abdul Jalil, a resident of Ishwardi upazila, and Ahsan Molla, 65, hailed from Rajshahi's Bagha upazila.

According to police, the accident occurred when the truck, CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a shallow engine-driven vehicle crashed into each other near Govt Sara Marwari Model School and College at around 5 am. Two passengers of the three wheeler died on the spot and two were injured.

The injured were taken to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital, said police.

Ishwardi Police Station officer-in-charge Arbindo Sarkar confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
