Twelve platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in the capital to maintain law and order as BNP called dawn to dusk hartal across the country.

BGB members are patrolling different areas of the capital, especially in Kakrail, Paltan and Motijheel areas today (October 29).

BGB Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter to media.

On October 28, BNP organised its grand rally in front of its Nayapaltan central office on Saturday with the participation of thousands of leaders and activists of the party and its associate bodies to press home their one-point demand for holding the upcoming national election under a non-party government.

Later, two persons including police constable Amirul Islam Parvez were killed and several others injured during the clash.
