Two people were killed and another was injured in two separate road accidents in the capital’s Dholaypar and Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover areas on Saturday night.

The deceased were Md Shifat Morshed, 28, son of Zahid Morshed, of Kushtia and Sobahan, 44, son of Abdul Kuddus Molla, of Shariatpur. 

The injured is Tanveer Siddiqui, 25, Shifat’s friend.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost confirmed the matter.

He said Sobahan was killed after being hit by a speeding truck while crossing the road on Saturday at about 2:30pm. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition, where the duty doctors declared him dead.

The bodies of the deceased were kept in DMCH morgue, said Bachchu Miah.
