Police arrested Lieutenant General Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy (retd) today (October 31) in a case filed on charge of presenting a fake advisor of US president to destabilise the country.

The case was filed against three people with the Paltan police station on 29 October, and they are Sarwardy, Mian Zahidul Islam Arefy, who introduced himself as an adviser to US President Joe Biden, and BNP leader Ishraque Hossain.

Chief of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch Additional Commissioner Harun-Or-Rashid confirmed the matter 

He said he led the arrest operation and Sarwardy was arrested from Savar.

However, the arrested BNP leader is now in DB office, said DB chief.

Earlier on 30 October, a Dhaka court sent Mian Zahidul Islam Arefy, a self-proclaimed adviser of US President Joe Biden, to jail in the case.
