The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi has said that the election in Bangladesh is a domestic matter for the country and it is the people of Bangladesh to decide their own future. 

India will continue to support Bangladesh's vision of a stable, peaceful and a progressive nation, MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said at a regular media briefing on Thursday (November 9). 

"We do not want to comment on the policy of any third country...As a close friend and partner, India respects the democratic process in Bangladesh and we will continue to support Bangladesh's vision of a stable, peaceful and progressive nation," Bagchi said while responding to a media query.

His comments came when a correspondent wanted to know India's position on the recent political developments in Bangladesh.
