The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Friday (November 10) said total 64 buses were set on fire from 28 October to 9 November in the capital.
As many as 64 cases were filed in this connection, according to DMP.
DMP Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Mahid Uddin said in a press conference organized at DMP media center today.
He said aome 12 people were apprehended for their involvement in arson attacks and petrol, gunpowder, matches, cotton, and ragged clothes were seized from their possession.
On 28 October, BNP in the capital held a rally, which was marked with violence. Apart from hartal, BNP along with other opposition parties enforced nationwide blockades in three phases, which witnessed arson attacks on buses and other vehicles.
