Man chopped dead in Natore

NATORE: Miscreants chopped a man to death and left his wife injured critically at Bagdob village in Boraigram upazila of the district early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Haripada Mandal, 50.

Sources said entering into the bed room, miscreants chopped Haripada Mandal and his wife Bishakha indiscriminately at around 1:00am, leaving him dead on the spot and his wife critically injured.

Later, Bishakha was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Confirming the matter, Boraigram Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mahfuzzaman told banglanews, “On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.”

The motive of the killing could not be known immediately as the attackers did not loot anything from the house, he added.
