Bangladesh will offer cash rewards for information leading to the recovery of weapons lost during the recent mass uprising, Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced on Sunday (Aug 10).

“We will form a committee to determine the amount, and anyone providing information will receive the announced reward,” he said.

Speaking to reporters after a law and order meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the adviser said the government will issue a circular outlining the reward scheme.

Responding to a question, the adviser estimated that around 700 weapons remain unaccounted for.
