9 Ex-OCs sent into force retirement

The government has sent nine police officers-in-charge (OCs) at various police stations in Dhaka during the tenure of the past government, into retirement from public service in the public interest.

The Public Security Division’s Police-2 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued nine separate gazette notifications in this regard on Sunday (August 10).

Signed by Deputy Secretary Nasimul Ghani on behalf of the President, the notifications stated that the officers were retired under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018) in the public interest.

Those retired are: Md Kamal Hossain, Inspector (Unarmed) of Jamuna Bridge East River Outpost under River Police; Nurul Islam, Inspector of CID Moulvibazar; Abu Bakar Siddique, Inspector of Madhupur Circle Office in Tangail; Mamun Or Rashid, Inspector of Tourist Police in Munshiganj and Padma Bridge Zone; SM Kamruzzaman, Inspector at Narayanganj District Reserve Office; Abdul Kuddus Fakir, Inspector of CID Narsingdi; Shikdar Md Shamim Hossain, Inspector of APBn-4 in Bogura; Abdul Latif, Inspector at CID Control Room; and Md Selimuzzaman, Inspector of Kulaura Railway Police Station.

The notifications mentioned that the retired officials will receive retirement benefits as per the rules. The order, issued in the public interest, comes into effect immediately.
