The government has revoked the police medals of 40 officers, including deputy inspectors general (DIGs), superintendents of police (SPs) and inspectors, who are currently fugitives and under temporary suspension.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a gazette notification in this regard on Sunday (August 10).
Signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Tausif Ahmed, the notification said the medals were being withdrawn from the 40 officers who had fled their workplaces and against whom departmental proceedings were underway.
It also stated that all financial benefits related to the medals for these officers have been stopped, and they have been instructed to return any funds already received in connection with the awards.
