DHAKA: Mysterious death of a young girl was reported in the city’s Jatrabari area Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Farzana Akhtar, 18, daughter of Delwar Hossain of Hazibari at Maspara Matuail.

Hospital sources said family members of Farzana took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at about 11pm in an unconscious state. But, they left the hospital leaving behind the body as the on-duty doctor declared her dead, said the sources.

Family members claimed Farzana, a student of a local madrasah, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room at about 10:30pm.

But, the deceased’s aunt Jesmin told banglanews24.com.bd that Farzana was found laying on her bed in an unconscious state.

Jatrabari Thana Officer-in-Charge Moniruzzaman said police went to the spot to investigate the matter.
