Matiur Rahman, commissioner of the Internal Resources Division (IRD) of the Finance Ministry, has been granted an early retirement.

The decision came after an application filed by Matiur for an early retirement, reads a circular of the IRD published on Wednesday.

It is said in the announcement, Md Matiur Rahman (Commissioner, attached to Internal Resources Department) has completed 25 years of service, by Section 44(1) and Section 51 of the Public Service Act, 2018, retirement without financial benefits (post-retirement leave, lump grant and Pension) is provided.

A video of Matiur Rahman's son Mushfiqur Rahman Ifat buying a goat for Tk 15 lakh before Eid-ul-Azha went viral on social media. Due to this, allegations of corruption were raised against this official of National Board of Revenue (NBR).
