The government has announced three days of public holidays from Monday to ensure public safety amid the evolving situation following the student movement across the country.
The announcement was followed by another government decision to impose a countrywide curfew from 6pm on Sunday for an indefinite period.
The government announced the holiday in an executive order on Sunday amid the worsening situation due to the students’ one-point oust government movement.
Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury, senior secretary of the Public Administration Ministry, told reporters that the government will take the next step in this regard based on the country’s overall situation.
