The Bangladesh Army, along with other armed forces and law enforcement agencies, have decided to go for tougher action in a bid to stop the ongoing destructive activities, including arson attacks, across the country.
The decision was taken during a meeting attended by General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Army Staff, along with the Chiefs of the Navy and Air Force, newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Mainul Islam, the Director General of RAB, and the DMP Commissioner, said a statement on Thursday.
There was a discussion about initiating the activities of all police stations across the country with the support of the army within the next 24 hours during the meeting and cooperation from everyone is sought in this regard, added the statement.
