The interim government led by Nobel Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus has been sworn as head of the interim government today (August 8).
President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath ceremony at 9pm at Bangabhaban in the capital..
After that, 16 advisers of the interim government were also sworn and their names are:
1. Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, economist and former governor of Bangladesh Bank
2. Dr Md Asif Nazrul, civil society member and professor of the University of Dhaka
3. Adilur Rahman Khan, human rights activist and former deputy attorney general
4. Md Touhid Hossain, former foreign secretary
5. Hasan Arif, former attorney general
6. Syeda Rizwana Hasan, a Supreme Court lawyer and environment activist
7. Md Nahid Islam, a key coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement
8. Asif Mahmud, a key coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement
9. Brigadier General (retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hussain, civil society member and former election commissioner
10. Supradip Chakma, chairman of the state-run Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board
11. Farida Akter, human rights activist
12. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder, famed psychiatrist and former director of National Institute of Mental Health
13. AFM Khalid Hossain, Islamic scholar and former Naib-e-Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam
