Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor ASM Maksud Kamal resigned from his position on Saturday (Aug 10).

He submitted his resignation letter to the education ministry at noon.

Besides, the provosts of seven halls submitted their resignations.

They resigned in the face of the students' movement, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar confirmed the matter.

The provosts are - Professor Billah Hossain of Ziaur Rahman Hall, Professor Akram Hossain of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Dr. Abdul Bashir of Bijoy Ekattor Hall, Dr. Abdur Rahim of Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall, Professor Iqbal Rauf Mamun Salimullah Muslim Hall, Dr. Nilufar Parveen of Dr. Rokeya Hall and Lafifa Jamal of Shamsun Nahar Hall.
