CAAB gets new chairman after six weeks

The interim government has appointed Air Vice Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan as the new chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), only six weeks after the previous appointment in the post.

He is expected to assume his new role within the next seven working days, as per the official order issued on Friday.

Air Vice Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan was serving as air commander at the Bangladesh Air Force Base Zahurul Haq in Chattogram.

He will replace Air Commodore Sadikur Rahman Chowdhury, who had taken over as chairman on 27 June. The outgoing CAAB chairman now will join as the director of the Training Directorate at the Air Force Headquarters.
