The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over four divisions and at many places over north and central divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country.

According to the BMD's forecast for the next 24 hours from 9am today, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

A low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal-Bangladesh coast.

The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, center of the low to Assam across Bangladesh. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 36.4 degree Celsius at Srimangal and minimum temperature today was recorded 23.4 degree Celsius at Tangail.

 Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 61 millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.

Day and night temperature may fall by (1-3)o C over the country.
