Four killed in Narsingdi clash over dominance

Four people including a woman were killed and at least 30 others injured in a clash between two groups over dominance and land dispute in Raipura of Narsingdi.

The incident occurred at Sayedabad village in the district’s Srinagar upazila at 10 am on Thursday (August 22).

The deceased are - Amir Hussain (65) of Syedabad village, Shaheen Mia's son Junaid (16), Badal Mia (45), and Sahabuddin's wife Feroza Begum (35) of Baghaikandi village.

According to locals, there was a dispute between former Srinagar upazila parishad members Feroz and Shah Alam over dominance. Following this dispute, several times both locked into clashes. 

However, on Wednesday night, a clash between groups of Feroz and Shah Alam broke out over a land dispute. Leaving four killed and 30 others injured.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Raipura Police Station Safayet Hossain confirming the matter said, upon receiving information, the police rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.
