A Dhaka court today (September 19) showed former commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Asaduzzaman Miah arrested in a case lodged over murder of garment worker Aziz in capital's Uttara area during the recent anti-discrimination student-led mass movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Arifur Rahman passed the order as police produced him before the court after end of his seven-day remand in another case and pleaded to show him arrested in this case.
A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained Asaduzzaman Miah from Mohakhali area on September 11. He was produced before the court the next day.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Islam placed him on seven-day remand in the case lodged over killing of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leader Nuruzzaman Jony.
