Three people were killed and nine others injured in the violence in Khagrachari.
The deceased were identified as Dhananjoy Chakma, 50, Rubel Tripura, 25, and Junan Chakma, 20.
Dhananjoy died on Thursday night and the two other victims died around 1:30 am on Friday while undergoing treatment at Adhunik Sadar Hospital.
Dhananjoy was injured in Dighinala, while Rubel and Junan sustained bullet injuries in Khagrachhari Sadar during the clash that broke out on Thursday afternoon.
Chattogram Range Police's Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ahsan Habib Palash, confirming the deaths, said that the bodies will be handed over to their respective families after the legal procedures.
The law enforcers are patrolling the areas to keep the situation under control, he added.
On Wednesday, a youth named Mamun was beaten to death bringing thievery allegation. Following the incident Bengali students protested in Dighinala yesterday.
After that, there was a fight between the two sides. At present, the patrolling of law and order forces along with the army has been strengthened in various parts of the district.
Earlier on Thursday afternoon miscreants set fire to the Larma Square market centering two side’s fight in Dighinala of the district. In which more than 50 shops were gutted and five people were injured.
