Commuters suffer onDhk-Ctg highway

DHAKA: Thousands of passengers suffered for a 30-kilometer long tailback of traffic on Dhaka-Chittagong route as a large number of vehicles took to the highway on Wednesday morning

Sources said that created huge traffic jam from 3:00am due to huge traffic flow and a goods-laden truck went out of service in Madhaiya area of Chandina Tuesday at around 11:45pm Tuesday.

Confirming the matter, Daudkandi Highway Thana Sub-Inspector Nasir told banglanews, “As Jammat-e-Islami declared hartal for Thursday so the pressure of vehicular movements comparatively high on highways.”

Eliotganj Highway Police Sergeant Mohammad Hasan said that police is trying to remove traffic jam.
