Abul Kalam Azad, former principal secretary of the deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina, was arrested in Dhaka on Saturday (October 5).
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Detective Branch of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police apprehended him at Kalabagan this evening, DMP Additional Commissioner (DB) Rezaul Karim Mallick told the media.
Abul Kalam was arrested based on specific allegations, the official said, adding that he was taken to the DB office.
“We will produce him before a Dhaka court on Sunday and seek remand for interrogation,” Mallick added.
