BNP’s movement a big flop

RAJSHAHI: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has categorically said that the anti-government campaign launched by BNP failed miserably as ordinary people were against it.
 
She made the claim while addressing a march-past program of Provisional Assistant Superintendents of Police at Sardah Police Academy on Saturday morning.
 
The Prime Minister said that fundamentalist Jamaat-Shibir and their associates indulged in violence to destabilize the country. "They hurled petrol bombs and killed innocent people. They also stooped to sabotage damaging vehicles and uprooting rail tracks. But they failed miserably."
 
The premier urged the provisional police supers to "work sensibly to ensure the security of the common man".
 
Citing various initiatives for the development of police forces during last five years, the Prime Minister said, “We created 31,000 posts including 614 cadre posts. Besides, industrial police, tourist police forces and river police were formed.”
 
With Bangladesh Police Academy Principal Nayeem Ahmed in the chair, State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan, Inspector General of Police Khandakar Hasan Mahmud and others were present in the program.
 
Later, she distributed crests among provisional police supers.
 
According to the PM`s schedule, she will address a rally around 4:30pm in Sardah Pilot High School ground.
 
Before addressing the rally, the premier will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of several developmental projects at the venue.
