17 held for not having passport

BENAPOLE: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel held 17 Bangladeshi citizens from Putkhali village under Benapole Thana of the district early Saturday as they had no passport.

The detainees hailed from Narail, Bagerhat, Dhaka, Munshiganj and Narayanganj districts.  

Benapole Port Thana Sub-Inspector Amirul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews and said: “They were held when returning from India.”
