DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday sent Tazrin Fashion owner Delwar Hossain to jail rejecting his bail plea and granted bail to his wife Mahmuda.

Senior Chief Judicial Magistrate Ismail Hossain passed the order after bail plea hearing of Tazrin fire case that killed some 111 readymade garment workers.

Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Anwarul Kabir Babul confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier on Sunday, Delwar Hossain and his wife Mahmuda Akhter Mita surrendered to the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and plead for a bail release.

On Nov 24, 2012, fire gutted Tazreen Fashion’s factory at Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital.

Some 111 factory workers died and more than 200 others sustained severe burn injuries in this connection.

Sub-Inspector of Ashulia Police Station Khairul Islam filed the case accusing unidentified people a day after the fire.
