GAZIPUR: At least 300 workers of a readymade garment factory in Mauchak area under Kaliakoir Thana of the district fell sick after taking tiffin on Wednesday night.

Sources said that the workers of Karim Textile of Purbani Group became sick at around 7:15pm.

Sick workers said that the workers went to the garment to discharge their overtime duties at night. Then they started vomiting immediately after taking the dinner supplied by the factory management.

80 sick workers were admitted to Gazipur Sadar Hospital.
 
Hospital’s Doctor Tonmoy told banglanews that suffering from food poisoning, some workers of the factory fell sick. They were given treatment.”

Mauchak Police Outpost Sub-Inspector Syed Ajharul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
