SHERPUR: A youth was chopped to death by his elder brother over long standing dispute regarding their lands in Gollarpar area under Nalitabari upazila of the district on early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Dulal Hossain, 32, son of Mokazzal Hossain and resident of the area.

Family sources said that Dulal’s elder brother Malek, who is a former Army member, chopped him with lethal sharp weapons around 3:30am while he was sleeping at his residence, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police rushed the place. Recovering the body they sent it to Sherpur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Nalitabari Police Station Monirul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
